Dr. Carter is board certified by the American Board of Urology in adult and pediatric urology. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has special interests and expertise in the following:
- Evaluation and treatment of prostate cancer and BPH
- Urinary incontinence
- Erectile dysfunction
- Kidney stones
- Kidney and bladder infections
- Hematuria (blood in the urine)
Dr. Carter completed his urological residency training at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles in 1988, and has been in clinical practice since then. Dr. Carter founded Marshall Urology Associates in 1997 with the goal of providing patient focused, state of the art urologic healthcare to residents of Northeast Alabama and the Tennessee Valley. Recently, in response to the increasing numbers of men, women, and children suffering with urinary incontinence problems, and in light of Dr. Carter's special interest in the evaluation and treatment of these patients, the name of the practice was changed to Marshall Urology & Continence Center.
Dr. Carter combines excellent urologic training and credentials with seasoned experience and state of the art technology to provide professional, compassionate care to those who suffer with urologic health problems. Dr. Carter and his staff emphasize communication and patient education in the evaluation and treatment of their patients.
